Designing for happiness and finding meaning at work with web-app Helixers

The client

Helixers is a ‘gezellig Brabants’ company consisting of a corporate psychologist, work balance coach and a developer. They help employees with finding meaning & happiness within their corporate environment through software solutions. Their framework of questionnaires, check-ins and self-development courses bring more overall happiness to employees everywhere. This reduces burn-out and increases longer working.

Target audience

It’s employers who first approach Helixers but the web-app itself is used by coaches, employees and their managers interacting with each other within the dashboard. It focuses on Dutch corporates where the pressure-cooker is always on. Oftentimes when an employee starts talking about burn-out, it’s already too late.

Design challenge

While the subject is very emotional, the web-app should focus on quantifiable data. The user walks through a series of events that should all be represented in the UI. The first step is introducing themselves and answering quiz with 100+ questions. All efforts to make this enjoyable must be pursuit. After the Q&A a session of check-ins with a coach and manager is scheduled through the app. Goals and tasks must be present in the UI.
